The MA5 was designed to capture the unmistakable tone and character of early ‘70s British Class-A consoles, while incorporating modern reliability and precision. Drawing on years of expertise restoring vintage British and American modules, Avedis Audio engineered the MA5 around transformer-balanced, all-discrete Class-A circuitry, carefully selecting only the most musical and robust components. The result is a preamp that delivers full-bodied lows extending below 10 Hz, clear and defined mids, and smooth, open highs - all without the muddiness or smear that can plague lesser designs.

A standout feature of the MA5 is the 28k button, a carefully tuned high-frequency corrective boost that restores detail often lost to cable capacitance or excessive processing, adding air and brilliance with a subtle +6 dB peak at 28 kHz. With stepped gain control in 5 dB increments, an output trim for precise level matching, and rugged in-house"built input and output transformers, the MA5 is both versatile and unmistakably musical.
