The AEA N28 Compact Active Stereo Ribbon Microphone is a high-quality stereo microphone designed for capturing natural and phase-coherent stereo recordings with ease. Featuring a Blumlein imaging setup, it provides an authentic representation of a performance, making it ideal for applications like drum overheads, room ambiance, and close-miked stringed instruments. The microphone's mid-forward frequency response, controlled proximity effect, and fast transient response ensure versatility across various sources.

Unlike other AEA stereo ribbon mics, the N28 is compact, lightweight, and maneuverable, making it easy to position in tight spaces. It includes two matched figure-8 ribbon transducers, optimized for medium-distance miking. Built with precision, it features a 1.13-inch aluminum ribbon, Lehle 1:89 transformers, and a new impedance buffer amp. The microphone is handcrafted in Pasadena, CA, and is designed to last with proper care. It requires phantom power (P48, 7mA) and comes with accessories like a shock mount clip, custom windscreen, soft cloth bag, and a 15ft XLR breakout cable. Whether used in Blumlein, Mid-Side (M/S), or other stereo configurations, the AEA N28 delivers a rich, immersive soundstage with remarkable depth and clarity.
