Sennheiser MK 8

The MK 8 is the solution for advanced home recording applications and project studios alike. It is the microphone for people who bring all their passion in their audio projects. The MK 8 offers sophisticated options to adjust and shape the sound. The dual-diaphragm condenser microphone stands for a warm and precise sound reproduction. Its five different polar patters (omni-directional, wide cardioid, cardioid, supercardioid, figure-of-eight) allow for a multitude of recording applications and sound design options. They make adaption to different instruments and room situations easy. No matter which mixing desk or recording device is used, the MK 8 matches the input sensitivity by a 3-step attenuator (off, -10dB, -20dB). Two adjustable filters can compensate for the proximity effect as well as low frequency rumbling or structure born noise.

The MK 8 has one-inch diaphragms precisely spattered with 24-carat gold. Its capsule is elastically mounted to reduce structure-borne noise. The front end electronics of the microphone is uniquely sheltered within the microphone capsule which makes the MK 8 extraordinary immune against humidity and structure borne noise. The capsule is accommodated within a sturdy metal housing.
